Sub Project Lead Handover & Information Management

As a Sub-project Lead Information Management Systems, you will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of large-scale offshore grid infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for ensuring that information management systems, document management processes, and data governance frameworks are effectively implemented, maintained, and transferred into operations.
Your expertise will contribute directly to the realization of critical offshore energy infrastructure that supports the energy transition and secures a reliable electricity supply for the Netherlands.
About TenneT, the Department and Team
TenneT is a leading European Transmission System Operator (TSO) with a central role in the energy transition. The organization develops, maintains, and operates the high-voltage electricity grid in the Netherlands and a large part of Germany.
You will be working within the Offshore Unit, which is responsible for the development and realization of offshore grid infrastructure that enables the integration of renewable energy sources into the Dutch electricity system.
Within the Offshore Unit, you will join the Portfolio GSC Project Management Department, responsible for managing and supporting complex offshore projects while ensuring successful project delivery and operational readiness.
You will work within the Large Projects Offshore, Portfolio GSC Team, consisting of approximately 14 direct colleagues and forming part of a broader project organization of around 100 professionals. The team focuses on project delivery, information management, digital solutions, and the successful transfer of assets, data, and documentation into operational environments.
The team’s activities contribute directly to the modernization, expansion, and sustainability of the Dutch offshore transmission network.
The Assignment
As Sub-project Lead Information Management Systems, you will lead and coordinate all Information Management System related activities within the project environment. You will be responsible for ensuring that project information, documentation, and data are managed effectively throughout the project lifecycle and transferred successfully into operational systems and processes.
You will act as the focal point between project teams, operational stakeholders, and system suppliers, ensuring that information management standards, governance requirements, and business objectives are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
– Lead the implementation, optimization, and adoption of Information Management Systems within the project environment.
– Coordinate the migration of project documentation and data into new or existing information management platforms.
– Define and manage information management requirements, processes, and governance structures.
– Align project deliverables, documentation standards, and data requirements with internal stakeholders and operational organizations.
– Act as the primary point of contact for document management, data governance, and information management related topics.
– Ensure data quality, completeness, consistency, and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
– Monitor project readiness regarding information management deliverables and coordinate mitigation actions where required.
– Facilitate the successful handover of project information, documentation, and data to Operations & Maintenance.
– Coordinate stakeholders involved in document control, data management, engineering, and asset management processes.
– Identify and manage risks, issues, and opportunities related to information management systems and data governance.
– Enhance and further develop Power BI dashboards and reporting capabilities to improve project transparency and decision-making.
– Support continuous improvement initiatives related to digital information management, governance, and project execution.
Eisen voor de opdracht Sub Project Lead -Handover & Information Management
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Management, Engineering, Business Administration, IT, Project Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience within Information Management, Document Management, Data Management, or Project Information Management.
- Proven experience within large-scale infrastructure, offshore, utilities, energy, industrial, or engineering projects.
- Experience implementing and managing Information Management Systems and document management platforms.
- Experience coordinating complex stakeholder environments and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Experience with information governance, document control, and data quality management processes.
- Extensive knowledge of Information Management Systems and associated business processes.
- Strong understanding of document management, document control, metadata management, and data governance.
- Experience with system implementations, migrations, and process optimization initiatives.
- Knowledge of Power BI and reporting solutions.
- Understanding of operational handover processes and asset information requirements.
- Knowledge of high-voltage infrastructure and/or offshore platform systems is a strong advantage.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Dutch language skills are considered a strong advantage.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Willingness to travel to project locations when required.
- Willingness to travel internationally on an occasional basis.
- Availability to work 2-3 (monday and tuesday mandatory) days per week from the Arnhem Rijnpoort office.
- Experience working within large project organizations and matrix structures is preferred.
